Kamloops teen hoping city will help clean up Schubert

KAMLOOPS — It's not something anyone wants to experience while out for walk in their neighbourhood: looking down and seeing a dirty needle discarded on the ground.

That's why Kamloops teenager Ken LeBlanc is hoping to bring some attention to what he says is a growing problem.

Papers discuss fracking impact on B.C. dams, province defends approach

VANCOUVER — Officials at British Columbia’s public power utility raised concerns as early as 2009 that earthquakes caused by a controversial gas-extraction method used in the mining industry may put the province’s largest hydroelectric dams at risk, internal documents reveal.

RIH prepares to open Clinical Services building Monday

KAMLOOPS — The brand new Clinical Services building at Royal Inland Hospital will be open to patients on Monday. 

Health Service Director Kris Kristjanson said equipment would be moved in over the weekend, causing some disruption to outpatient lab services.
