Mounties raid North Shore, Westsyde properties as part of Columbia St. homicide probe

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say their investigation into a shooting death last week has led them to raid properties on the North Shore and in Westsyde.


An update distributed by BC RCMP Wednesday (May 13) notes the search warrants were obtained in relation to the homicide that took place in the 200-block of Columbia Street on May 5.

Investigators have searched properties in the 800-block of Surrey Avenue and in the 800-block of McQueen Drive.

RCMP say there has been a “significant police presence” in both neighbourhoods throughout the week. They note the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been on scene to help the efforts of local police.

Otherwise, Mounties have been tight-lipped about the May 5 shooting death. No details about the victim or a possible motive have been released. RCMP did note the shooting was believed to have been targeted.
