Blazers’ 68-game regular season schedule unveiled

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ 68-game schedule has been released for the 2021-22 Western Hockey League (WHL) regular season.

The Blazers will play 48 games within the B.C. Division with six games at home and six games away against each of their four division rivals: Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver and Victoria.

Kamloops will play its remaining 20 games against the U.S. Division, playing each team – Everett, Portland, Seattle, Spokane and Tri City – twice at home and twice away.

The Blazers start the season in Prince George on Oct. 2 and will host their home opener at the Sandman Centre on Saturday, Oct. 9, against Prince George. The final home game will be Friday, April 1 against Spokane, while the final game of the season will be April 3 in Prince George

The Blazers 12 of their home games on Friday, 11 on Saturdays, seven on Wednesday, two on Tuesday and two on Monday – including a 2:00 p.m. start against Everett on Feb. 21 for B.C. Family Day. The longest home stretch will be four games between Jan. 22 and 29.

The WHL previously announced there would be no travel between the Western and Eastern Conference in 2021-22, meaning the Blazers won’t host or visit teams in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The Blazers’ exhibition schedule begins Sept. 15 at home against the Victoria Royals.
