Blazers will play six pre-season games. First with fans in 18 months.

KAMLOOPS — The Western Hockey League preseason schedule will include 52 games between September 10 and September 25.

Six of those games will involved the Kamloops Blazers.

It the reopening plan stays on course, the game on Wednesday, September 15 against the Victoria Royals will be the first time in 18 months, or 558 days, that there will be fans allowed in the Sandman Centre.

The last time was March 6, 2020 when attendance of 4067 watched the Blazers defeat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-3.

Less tha a week later the season was paused, and then the remainder cancelled, after the outbreak of COVID 19.

The 22 game 2020-21 season was played without fans.

Three of the Blazers six preseason games will be at home.

Following the September 15th game against Victoria, they’ll host Prince George on Friday, September 17, and Kelowna on Friday, September 24.

The Blazers will play road preseason games at Prince George, Vancouver and Kelowna.

The full regular season schedule will be released this Wednesday — although we already know the Blazers will start the season Saturday, October 2nd at Prince George and play their first home game the following Saturday, October 9th, against Prince George.
