HAILEE STEINFELD MEETS BUMBLEBEE IN TRAILER FOR ‘TRANSFORMERS’ SPIN-OFF: Hailee Steinfeld is getting in on the Transformers action with the franchise’s new spinoff, Bumblebee. In the first trailer for the film, Hailee’s character discovers a yellow Volkswagen Beetle in a junkyard with a key still in the ignition. She takes the car home, but soon discovers it’s no ordinary vehicle. The car is actually a Transformer named Bumblebee. The two quickly bond and, in true Transformers fashion, much action ensues. Old school Transformers fans appreciate that the makers of this film got the plucky Autobot’s make and model right – the other Transformers films had him as a yellow Camaro. Bumblebee, also starring John Cena, hits theaters this Christmas.

ZENDAYA TO STAR IN NEW HBO PILOT: Zendaya is moving on from her Disney days and is set to star in an upcoming HBO drama pilot titled Euphoria. The 21-year-old singer/actress will be joined by some of the hottest up-and-coming young stars in Hollywood, including A Wrinkle in Time’s Storm Reid, The Kissing Booth’s Jacob Elordi, and Other People’s Maude Apatow. Also joining the cast are Eric Dane, Lukas Gage, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney. Euphoria tells “the story of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship all told by a lying, drug addicted 17 year old girl named Rue (Zendaya),” according to Variety.

JUSTIN BIEBER TO VOICE ANIMATED FILM BASED ON CUPID: Justin Bieber is developing a movie alongside Mythos Studios based on the story of Cupid, with Justin providing his voice as the god of love and attraction. “When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief,” said Mythos Studios co-founder Scooter Braun. “Both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world,” added Mythos Studios co-founder David Maisel. He also worked with Justin as a producer of the Never Say Never documentary in 2011.
