UPDATE: No water advisory after semi-truck crash near Avola

AVOLA, B.C. — A vehicle crash involving a transport truck along Highway 5 on Jan. 5 has had no impact on residents who draw water from the North Thompson River.

TNRD Emergency Operations Centre Information Officer Debbie Sell says there is no water advisory in place for residents, although Interior Health issued an advisory over the weekend.

The Vavenby community water system previously under an advisory due to a separate diesel spill last week is not impacted due to the distance from the crash site.
