KAMLOOPS — A rural director representing Pritchard South-Monte Lake and Westwold is the new Chair of the Thompson Nicola Regional District.

Ken Gillis was elected the chair at last night's swearing in ceremony.

The Vice-Chair of the Board will be Bill Kershaw, who represents the Barriere area.

26 Board members were sworn in last night.

In a story posted on his page "Mel Rothenburger, Electoral Area P", Rothenburger writes that Gillis expressed confidence the new Board, about half of which are new to politics, will work together to deal with issues in the area.

The Board said goodbye last night to long-time members John Ranta of Cache Creek and Pat Wallace of Kamloops.
