KAMLOOPS — It hasn't been a banner season for the Kamloops Broncos --- but one of their veteran players has been recognized by the B.C. Football Conference.

Offensive lineman Derek Walde has been named to the BCFC all star offensive team.

It's the second all star nod for the native of Kindersley, Saskatchewan.

Walde was named at the start of the season as one of the top 50 players in all of Canadian Junior Football.

In his fifth and final year with the Broncos, Walde now plans to play CIS football while pursuing an education degree, and then return as close to home in Kindersley as he can to start teaching and coaching high school football.

Walde will play his final game with the Broncos when they host the Langley Rams this Saturday at 4pm at Hillside.
