PETERS: On camping, the environment and personal ethics
I SAW A POST ONLINE recently by someone admitting they were struggling with the ethics of towing their RV to go out camping at a time when North America seems to be on fire.
They said they knew their personal contribution to climate change is a drop in the bucket compared to big polluters, but they found the idea irksome nonetheless.
Commenters pointed out at least they weren’t flying in an airplane to a vacation destination, because air travel is exponentially worse for the environment than driving a car or truck.
