KAMLOOPS — Next week Kamloops will recognize Homelessness Action Week, a week-long awareness event dedicated to reducing stigma around homelessness.

As part of Homelessness Action Week the City of Kamloops and the City’s Lived Experience Committee host an event called Project Connect.

The City’s Project Manager for Housing and Homelessness Ty Helgason says in its fifth year the event is moving locations.

“One complaint that we had heard in the past was that people were cold, as it was always held outside at Spirit Square,” Helgason said. “So, this year we’ve actually moved it inside to the Valley First Lounge at the Sandman Centre.”
