WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Cariboo region.

The area stretching from Williams Lake to Quesnel is affected.

The national forecaster says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

If the stormy conditions materialize residents are reminded to stay indoors as strong wind gusts can toss loose objects and break branches off of trees.
