UPDATE: Crews douse Vernon townhouse fire

VERNON — Update: The fire is out, and we are waiting for more details from Vernon Fire Rescue.

Beach Radio News attended the scene and the fire and damage did not appear to be major.

Earlier: Vernon Fire Rescue continues to work on a residential structure fire.

It’s at at townhouse complex at 3910 – 32nd Avenue, and was first reported at 6:49 this morning.

“At present no injuries are reported, although the fire is reported to be heavy and labour intensive with additional resources called in to assist,” says a City of Vernon release.
