VERNON — A man was injured after a shooting in Vernon early Tuesday.

RCMP responded to a report that a man had been shot and injured in the 3900 block of 33rd Street around 2 a.m. that morning.

“The victim, a 21 year old Vernon male, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by BC Ambulance Service to the nearest medical facility,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

Brett says the investigation is in its early stages, and preliminary information suggests it was not a random act, and police do not believe public safety is at risk.
