Kamloops Vibe wrap up season with bronze medal loss

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Vibe played their final weekend of hockey for the season at the Provincial Championships in Richmond. The Vibe started the weekend with a pair of 4-1 wins against the Meadow Ridge Moose and the Trinity Western University to be defeated in the Semis 3-2 against the Moose and a 1-0 loss in the Bronze game against the South Fraser TNT.
Top scoring for the Vibe:
Rochelle Smith with 4 goals, Jaclyn Frilund and Dani Ayerst with a pair each.
The Fraser Valley Jets won their first Provincial Championship over the Meadow Ridge Moose by a 7-2 score.

The Kamloops Vibe started the BC  Provincial tournament with a 4-1 win over the Meadow Ridge Moose Friday night in Richmond. Dani Ayerst, Rochelle Smith, Melissa Brunn and Jaclyn Frilund each scored for the Vibe.
Kamloops Returned to the ice Saturday morning the take on the Trinity Western Titans with the same 4-1 result. Rochelle Smith scored twice with singles from Jackie Sollis, and Jaclyn Frilund.
In Semi-final action Saturday evening the Vibe once again took on the Moose. After leading Meadow Ridge 2-1 going into the third the Moose scored two unanswered goals to earn their way into the gold game, relegating the Vibe to play for Bronze. Dani Ayerst and Rochelle Smith scored for the Vibe.

Sunday Morning the Vibe played the Bronze game against the South Fraser TNT. Midway through the second period the TNT scored the only goal  in the hard fought game. Kamloops out-shot the TNT by a 47-16 margin but were unable to solve the hot South Fraser goalie.
