KAMLOOPS --- Two first period goals, Dylan Ferguson and a good penalty kill led the Blazers to a 2-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs.

Quinn Benjafield and Luc Smith scored in the first period to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead.

Riley Woods scored for Spokane early in the third period, the only one of 48 shots to beat Ferguson.

Spokane had plenty of opportunity on the power play, but went 0-for-7, including one four minute advantage in the third period.

With the win the Blazers move to within six points of Spokane for the second wild card in the Western Conference.
