KAMLOOPS — The Elephant Hill wildfire is 95 per cent contained.

That’s up from 70 per cent on the weekend and up from 85 per cent two days ago.

“Crews continue to make good progress on the Elephant Hill wildfire, especially with cooler conditions recently,” says Erin Catherall, a fire information officer with the BC Wildfire Service. “There has been no additoinal growth or change to the fire perimeter.”

But she adds “danger trees continue to be a major concern in the area as this summer’s fire activity has weakened the roots and damaged many trees, making them susceptible to toppling over.”
