Merritt Centennials win at home against Wenatchee

MERRITT —  The Merritt Centennials opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period and went on to beat the Wenatchee Wild 4-1 in Merritt last (Friday ) night.

Merritt scored two goals 30 seconds apart before the first period was half over. That chased the Wild’s starting goalie, Garrett Nieto from the game after facing only three shots. Merritt led 3-0 at the end of the first, and scored the only goal of the third. Four different players figured in the Centennial scoring. Colten Lancaster got the win in net for the Cents, who are in Penticton tonight. Merritt was outshot 31-20 in the game. Merritt is still fourth in the Interior division. Their opponent tonight, Penticton, are first in the Division.
