KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Venom are one win away from back-to-back Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse championships after winning the first two games of the best-of-five series against the Vernon Tigers.

The Venom scored nine goals in the second period of Game 2 on Sunday night to win 14-11 at Memorial Arena and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Kyle Pauwels led the way with four goals and three assists, while Riley Peterson added six points with three goals and three assists. Kamloops took Game 1 by a 9-5 score.

Game 3 goes on Tuesday night in Vernon. If necessary, Game 4 would be on Thursday night at Memorial Arena in Kamloops.

A series win would mark the first time the Venom have won consecutive league titles.
