New hat for Olynyk

KAMLOOPS —— Kelly Olynyk has a variety of hats he wears —- usually backwards —- over the hair with flare.

Now he has a new hat —- ambassador!

The South Kam grad and Boston Celtics forward has been named an ambassador for the UBC Thunderbirds as they get set to host the CIS basketball championships next month.

It’s a mostly figurehead title.

UBC will host nationals March 17-20 when Olynyk and the Celtics are still in the thick of the NBA stretch drive, and play twice at the same time the CIS tournament is on.
