GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. — The former top doctor of Interior Health (IH) entered into a two-year-peace bond in connection with a case involving sex-related charges and underage kids during his time in Alberta.

The $2,000 peace bond for Albert de Villiers was put in place Wednesday (Sept. 13) in provincial court in Grande Prairie, Alberta. A peace bond includes conditions like no contact with the victims or their families and no use of alcohol or drugs.

Charges of voyeurism, making sexually explicit material available to a child, and invitation to sexual touching were withdrawn.

The charges stemmed from an arrest in June of 2021. RCMP said at the time they had reports of offences involving a child that happened between January 2017 and December 2019.
