B.C. Interior to sees daytime highs 10 to 15 degrees higher than seasonal norms: Environment Canada
KAMLOOPS — Unseasonably hot weather will blanket most of B.C., including the Interior, starting Friday (May 12) and lasting until Tuesday.
In a special weather statement online, Environment Canada says daytime highs 10 to 15 degrees higher than seasonal norms are expected for the North and South Thompson, along with the 100 Mile, Cariboo, Nicola and Shuswap regions. Additionally, overnight lows are expected to be five to 10 degrees above seasonal norms.
As of Thursday morning, the weather agency forecasts communities such as Kamloops, Merritt, Salmon Arm and Williams Lake to temperatures in the low 30s over the weekend.
Environment Canada warns that freezing levels will rise throughout the warmer weather, leading to possible local flooding due to high stream flow levels from additional melting snowpack.
