Both Rivers FC teams lose weekend matches Saturday

KAMLOOPS — Rivers FC’s men’s and women’s teams were in action on Saturday (July 9) with both squads walking away with losses.
The Rivers FC women’s team lost to Unity FC 3-2 after first-half goals by Taylor Miller and Camryn Curts. It wasn’t enough to take down the visiting Unity FC team.
On the men’s side, Unity’s men’s team needed a stoppage-time goal by Jackson Thompson to win 1-0 over Rivers FC.
“Saturday’s results mean that Rivers FC’s women’s team sit last in the seven team League1 BC female division with 1 win, 7 losses and 1 tie. The women have four points from 9 games. Rivers’ men’s team drops one position in the League1 standings to fifth on 2 wins, 4 losses and 3 draws and 11 points from 9 games,” the Rivers FC news release reads.
