One dead after Northern BC car crash
MCLEOD LAKE, B.C. — Mounties have confirmed that last night’s (April 3) collision on Highway 97 south of McLeod Lake has claimed a life.
BC RCMP Cpl. Mike Halskov says first responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on the highway at Haight Road at 6:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, he says police learned that a southbound Dodge pickup truck had crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a northbound transport truck.
Halskov says the lone occupant of the pickup, a 56-year-old man from the Cariboo-Chilcotin area, died as a result of the collision. The driver of the transport truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution.
