The Kamloops BMX Club is left to pick up the pieces after a thief or thieves broke into the storage unit on Ord Road and made off with up to 20-thousand dollars worth of equipment. Track Operator Colleen Botchar says the break in happened either Friday night or early Saturday morning. She says a start box, 5 bikes, PA system, helmets, a safe, generator and a compressor were all stolen. Botchar says the five bikes stolen were loaner bikes for children who can’t afford their own. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
