TNRD and SLRD expand evacuation response northwest of Cache Creek

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) have expanded evacuation orders and alerts along the southern flank of the massive Pear Lake wildfire, northwest of Cache Creek.

The SLRD said its expanded evacuation order now includes over 100 properties in the Pavilion Lake and Marble Canyon areas.

“Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other applicable agencies will be expediting this action,” said the SLRD.

“The evacuation orders issued on July 20, July 25, and August 6, 2026 for properties in the Pear Lake area and south of Pear Lake remain in effect.”

Meantime, the evacuation alert for the area has been updated to exclude properties now under the order and includes about 25 additional properties.

“The evacuation alert issued on August 7, 2026 for properties in the Pavilion Lake and Marble Canyon area has been updated to remove properties that are now on evacuation order in the Pavilion Lake and Marble Canyon area, and to add additional properties to this Alert,” said the SLRD.

The TNRD’s updated evacuation order applies to two additional properties — 1468 and 2628 along Highway 99 — for a total of 81 evacuated properties across Electoral Area “E” (Bonaparte Plateau) and Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country).

“If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately. A person must not enter the evacuation order area for purposes of residing, occupying, or visiting the area,” said the TNRD.

Meanwhile, the evacuation alert has been expanded to four new properties — 5980, 6020, 6149 and 6150 Lehman Road West. This adds up to about 1507 addressed properties in Electoral Area “E” (Bonaparte Plateau) under an evacuation alert in response to the out of control wildfire.

“This evacuation alert is in place to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an Evacuation Order; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions,” said the TNRD.

This comes as wind and weather conditions challenge BC Wildfire Service crews working to contain the flames along the southern flank of the 162,325.7-hectare blaze.
