Water conservation notice extended for east Kamloops residents as crews work along River Street

“Due to the location and nature of the break, repairs are taking longer than they would in other parts of the system,” a statement from the City of Kamloops said. “As a result, restricted water use will need to remain in place until further notice.”

The city is urging affected residents to limit lawn and garden watering, to take shorter showers and turn off taps while brushing teeth or shaving. People are also urged to delay washing vehicles and driveways, and to only run dishwashers and washing machines with full loads. A full list of tips can be found here.

Another update is expected to come on Tuesday (May 12) and people with concerns are asked to call the city’s Civic Operations Centre at 250-828-3461.

“We recognize the impact this has on households and businesses and thank everyone for continuing to conserve water while crews work as quickly and safely as possible,” the city statement added.
