UPDATE: Some Kamloops residents asked to conserve water as crews repair broken main valve

KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE May 11): The City of Kamloops is asking residents in the Barnhartvale, Campbell Creek, Dallas, Juniper Ridge and Valleyview neighbourhoods to conserve water until at least 6:00 p.m. Monday (May 11).

It’s approximately a 12 hour extension to the previous request, which was to conserve water until around 6:00 a.m. this morning.

Additionally, a portion of River Street from 13th to 14th Avenue in downtown Kamloops is also reduced to a single-lane of alternating traffic until further notice due to water main valve repairs.

EARLIER: The City of Kamloops has crews responding to a water main valve failure affecting residents in the eastern reaches of the city.

The impacted area is east of Rose Hill Road to the city limits, and it includes the Valleyview, Juniper Ridge, Dallas, Barnhartvale and Campbell Creek areas.

The city is asking affected residents to conserve water until for approximately 18 hours, until around 6:00 a.m. Monday morning (May 11).
