KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops are asking for help in locating a missing 81-year-old woman and her dog, Banjo.

Kamloops RCMP say Diane Freeman left her house just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday (April 16), and was bound for the Save-On Foods on the 1800-block of Tranquille Road in Brocklehurst.

In a statement, investigators confirmed that Freeman went inside the store and made a purchase, before she left around 5:15 p.m.

She has not been seen since, and her whereabouts are not know at this time. Posts to social media say Freeman may be experiencing a medical emergency.

“When Diane did not return as expected, her family reported her missing to police,” RCMP S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said. “It is extremely out of character for her not to return to her home, which is causing increased concern for police and her family.”

Freeman was last seen driving her red, 2019 Mazda CX5, with BC licence plate MK176L. She was accompanied by her grey Morkie cross, Banjo.
