‘I’m going to be standing up an awful lot’: Kamloops MP’s Red Bridge petition nets 1,500+ responses
KAMLOOPS — The Conservative MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Nicola is preparing to advocate for the Red Bridge in the House of Commons, after what he says was a very successful response to a petition he launched this summer.
Frank Caputo told CFJC Today there have been about 1,600 responses to his petition, which called on the federal government to help fast-track a rebuild of the Red Bridge in partnership with the provincial government, the City of Kamloops and Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc.
It is well above the 1,000 responses that Caputo was hoping to get, even though he only needed 25 valid signatures to be able to present it in the House of Commons.
