WolfPack men’s volleyball player earns Canada West Player of the Week honour after Presidents’ Cup performances

KAMLOOPS — A weekend sweep of UBC Okanagan not only led the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack men’s volleyball team to the Presidents’ Cup, but also an honour for one of its players.
Sam Flowerday was named Canada West’s men’s volleyball Player of the Week Tuesday (Jan. 23). The third-year outside hitter from Australia struck for 20 kills and a career-high six service aces in a 3-2 win on Friday and delivered 23 kills on 51 swings in a 3-2 win on Saturday.
As of Tuesday, Flowerday sits fourth in Canada West men’s volleyball kills with 269 in 16 games.
Flowerday and the WolfPack welcome Trinity Western University for a pair of home games Thursday and Friday (Jan. 25 and 26) at the Tournament Capital Centre.
