WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A 31-year-old man was sentenced to three years in jail after a drive-by shooting in Williams Lake in 2022.

In a news release issued Friday (Jan. 12) morning, Williams Lake RCMP say Trevor Lyndon Alexis pleaded guilty to multiple charges in a Prince George courtroom on Wednesday. He was sentenced to three years for discharge of a firearm with intent and one year for possession of a firearm contrary to order.

The sentencing stems from July 28, 2022, when Alexis was in a newer Dodge Ram and shot at a Dodge Challenger in downtown Williams Lake. Police say the Challenger was able to speed away from Alexis.

Officers obtained and executed a search warrant for a home and the vehicle Alexis was associated to and found two firearms and ammunition that was consistent with the damage on the Challenger. Police say an additional search warrant later confirmed Alexis was the shooter, and he was involved with the 712 gang in the Cariboo.
