Two in hospital, one in custody after shooting at Williams Lake Stampede
WILLIAMS LAKE — One person is in custody following a shooting Sunday (Jul. 3) on the grounds of the Williams Lake Stampede.
Williams Lake RCMP were called to the Stampede Grounds shortly after 3:30 p.m. during the final day of the popular rodeo. The rodeo was underway when several people reported hearing shots.
Police found two people with unspecified injuries. They were taken to hospital. One other person was taken into custody.
Investigators believe the incident was a targeted attack and do not believe there is further risk to the public.
