Threat of snow Thursday night along Okanagan Connector
KAMLOOPS — Another sign of the pending return of the winter season has been issued with a Special Weather Statement from Environment Canada. The national weather agency says motorists travelling the Okanagan Connector Thursday (Sept. 28) night should be prepared to deal with some snow.
Environment Canada says an upper trough over the B.C. Interior will deliver cool and unsettled conditions tonight. Snow levels will drop to near 1500 metres allowing the precipitation to fall as snow near the Pennask Summit on Highway 97C.
It says snowfall amounts of up to 2 cm is possible by Friday morning before freezing levels begin to rise in the heat of the day.
A similar statement has also been issued for highway mountain summits in the Kootenays.
