KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws had to wait one year to play ball, so what’s one more day?

Kamloops’ expansion West Coast League baseball team had their inaugural home open postponed due to unplayable field conditions. A severe lightning storm with heavy rain made its way through Kamloops Tuesday (May 31).

Instead, the NorthPaws are scheduled to play their home opener against the Edmonton Riverhawks at Norbrock Stadium Wednesday (June 1) at 6:35 p.m.

To make up for the Tuesday postponement, the NorthPaws say they’ll play a doubleheader with the Riverhawks on Thursday (June 2) with times to be determined. The NorthPaws say tickets to Tuesday’s game will be honoured for the first game of the doubleheader.
