Blazers list 20-year-old forward Nick McCarry
KAMLOOPS — Nick McCarry, a 2001-born forward from Calgary, was listed by the Kamloops Blazers Tuesday (June 23). Over the previous three seasons, McCarry spent time with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
“Nick is a skilled forward with good speed. He has had success in our league playing for a good team in Medicine Hat. [Head Coach Shaun Clouston] is familiar with him as well so that helped with our decision when he became available,” Director of Player Personnel Robbie Sandland stated.
In the shortened 2021 WHL Hub season, McCarry scored 12 points (seven goals and five assists) in 20 games for the Tigers. In his WHL career, he’s scored 41 points (23 goals and 18 assists) in 104 games.
