B.C. records 335 new COVID-19 cases; Merritt Tim Horton’s outbreak declared over

VICTORIA — The province’s health ministry is reporting 335 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday (Nov. 4), including 15 cases within Interior Health.

That brings the B.C. case count to 16,135 since the pandemic was declared in the province, spread out as follows:

  • 5,097 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 104)
  • 9,439 — Fraser Health (up by 205)
  • 274 — Vancouver Island (up by 4)
  • 803 — Interior Health (up by 15)
  • 432 — Northern Health (up by 7)
  • 90 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reports 3,120 active cases of the virus, including 92 people in hospital and 25 in intensive care.

Within Interior Health, there are now 102 active cases of COVID-19, though none of the patients is in hospital.

Henry says there has been one more death, raising the province’s death toll to 273.

There are now 7,133 people under active public health monitoring because they have been exposed to known COVID-19 cases.

A total of 12,659 people have been declared fully recovered from the virus, or 78 per cent of all recorded cases.

There are two new outbreaks within Interior Health – one at La Casa Resort in West Kelowna and one at the Village at Mill Creek, a longterm care home in Kelowna.

On the positive side, an outbreak previously declared at the Merritt Tim Horton’s has been declared over.
