B.C. records 299 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday; 11 new cases in Interior Health

VICTORIA —B.C. health officials are reporting 299 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (Nov. 3), including 11 within Interior Health.

The new cases bring B.C.’s total case count to 15,800, spread through the province as below:

  • 4,993 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 95)
  • 9,234 — Fraser Health (up by 185)
  • 270 — Vancouver Island (up by 5)
  • 788 — Interior Health (up by 11)
  • 425 — Northern Health (up by 3)
  • 90 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

The new cases within Interior Health do not include the workers at Royal Inland Hospital’s Patient Care Tower construction project, who will be recorded under Fraser Health.

According to Deputy Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reka Gustafson, there are now 3,017 active cases of COVID-19 throughout B.C., including 92 people who are in hospital and 22 who are in intensive care.

In Interior Health, there are 95 active cases but no one in hospital.

There have been three more deaths due to the virus, bringing the B.C. death toll to 272.

The number of people under public health monitoring due to COVID-19 exposures is now 6,888.

A total of 12,430 people are considered fully recovered from the virus, or 79 per cent of all recorded cases.

There are 29 outbreaks within the healthcare system in B.C., and a new community outbreak was recorded at Capella Dance Academy in Chilliwack.
