Witnesses sought in 100 Mile House assault

100 MILE HOUSE — 100 Mile House RCMP are investigating an assault that occurred Friday evening (July 17) in the community. Mounties say a man is being sought as a suspect in connection with the incident at Centennial Park.

The man was approximately 6 feet tall and white with a slim build. He had brown hair and green eyes.

Police say the assault occurred in the south end of the park near a covered picnic table near the parking lot. The suspect fled the area on foot, escaping near the stage in the park. Mounties say they do have video surveillance which recorded several witnesses entering the area around the time of the incident.

There is no information on the severity of injuries suffered by the victim.

Police are hoping to speak with anyone who may have seen a struggle in the park between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
