LANGLEY — The Canada West women’s volleyball semi finals were well fought by the TRU WolfPack, but the Trinity Western Spartans prevailed and took the deciding match last night (Feb. 29).

After winning the first match Thursday evening, the Pack lost to the number one ranked team in the nation, the Trinity Western University Spartans for the second straight night in straight sets (3-0).

Thompson Rivers was led in the loss by Olga Savenchuk with nine kills in 23 opportunities, and six digs. Fifth-year Kendra Finch had 8 kills, with seven digs and two service aces, while Abby Spratt brought in 18 assists.

TRU will now face either the Mount Royal Cougars or Alberta Pandas in the Canada West bronze medal match next weekend. The winner of that match will claim a spot to the upcoming U SPORTS Nationals.
