Field set for CRD Electoral Area ‘F’ byelection

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The field has been set for a Cariboo Regional District byelection.

The vote was called in Electoral Area ‘F’ when the director chosen in the October 20 general election, Conrad Turcotte, was unable to swear his oath of office by the December 7 deadline.

Turcotte had suffered an illness.

There will be three candidates for the March 30 byelection: Maureen LeBourdais, Brice O’Neill and Shannon Rerie.

Advance polling will take place March 20 and March 25 at polling locations later to be announced.

Electoral Area ‘F’ encompasses a large rural area as well as the communities of 150 Mile House, Likely and Horsefly.

Until a new director is elected, the position is being filled by Joan Sorley, who was the director prior to the October 20 vote.
