Williams Lake RCMP frustrated by rash of fuel card thefts
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP say a thief or thieves are targeting fleet vehicles in the community, stealing fuel cards.
In a news release, Const. Joel Kooger says the thieves are breaking into many types of vehicles, from passenger cars to taxi cabs to transport trucks.
Kooger says in all instances, the PIN for the fuel card is freely available — either written nearby or on the card itself.
In a few cases, the PIN is written on the vehicle’s sun visor, right next to where the card is located.
