Armed robbery suspect arrested in Chase

KAMLOOPS — Police have arrested a 24 year old Chase-area man in relation to an armed robbery at the Chase Groceteria last month.

The incident occurred Jan. 21 and Cpl. Scott Linklater says charges include robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, disguise with intent and failing to comply with a probation order.

The man is also being charged with theft under $5000 in relation to an incident that occurred at the BC Liquor Store in Chase that same day.

“This arrest resulted from the assistance of numerous members of the community coming forward to provide information,” he says. “This information aided in identifying a suspect in this serious offence. The Chase Deatchment would like to thank the community for its invaluable assistance in this matter.”
