Evacuation order issued for properties along Highway 24

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — An evacuation order has been issued for properties along the Highway 24 Corridor due to the threat of the Elephant Hill wildfire.

The TNRD says the order replaces the South of Highway 24 Area order issued Wednesday.

The evacuation route is: Horse Lake Road and Highway 24 to Highway 97

An evacuation order has also been issued for the South Canim Lake Area.

The evacuation route is: Canim Lake Road to 100 Mile House.

The TNRD says says the Canim Lake order doesn’t affect some residents who were evacuated Friday morning but have now been placed on evacuation alert.

Residents are being urged to use the TNRD’s searchable online map to determine if their residence is under an evacuation order or alert or call the public information line at  at 1-866-759-4977.
