Downtown standoff ends in an arrest

UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says police continue to actively investigate Saturday's incident downtown and aren't commenting further at this time. 

EARLIER:

KAMLOOPS — A man has been taken into custody after a stand-off with RCMP.

 

The 500 block of Seymour Street was cordoned off for hours Saturday morning as police dealt with a man inside a building next to the CrossRoads Inn.

Video captured by CFJC Today shows the man coming out of the building and being arrested by RCMP just before noon.

Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says criminal charges are being considered.
