Body discovered near Vernon

VERNON, B.C. — Police and the Coroner’s service are investigating after a body was discovered in the Silver Star Road area of Vernon.

The Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP Detachment were called to a report of a body being found near the intersection of Wilson Jackson Road and Jordashe Road at 7:24 am Thursday.

Following the initial examination of the scene, the death of the individual has been classified as suspicious in nature.

“Investigators from the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are currently on scene and are continuing the investigation,” says Cpl Dan Moskaluk.

No further information regarding this matter is being released at this time.
