KAMLOOPS — The BC Liberals have set a date to choose a candidate for next May's election in the hotly-contested riding of Kamloops-North Thompson.

Party officials say the candidate selection meeting will be held on November 19.

The deadline to join the party to vote for a candidate is October 21.

Incumbent MLA Terry Lake has announced he will not run again after serving two terms.

To date, three nominees have expressed interest in the candidacy: Kamloops North Shore Business Improvement Association Executive Director Steven Puhallo, Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar and developer Michael Grenier.

Incumbent MLA Todd Stone has been acclaimed for the Liberals in Kamloops-South Thompson.
