Alexa’s Bus returns to Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Alexa’s bus is back in Kamloops this weekend.

The specially-outfitted unit allows RCMP members to process impaired drivers immediately at the roadside.

It’s named for Alexa Middelaer, the four year old girl who was was killed by an impaired driver eight years ago in Delta.

Corporal Jodi Shelkie says traffic Mounties will make good use of the bus over the next few days.

“This weekend, the Kamloops RCMP traffic unit is going to be conducting Counter Attack operations throughout Kamloops,” said Shelkie. “They’re going to be using Alexa’s Bus roadside to process impaired drivers right there on scene.”
