WolfPack player star of the week in Canada West

KAMLOOPS — For the ninth time this season, a member of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack has been named a Canada West Star of the week.

Basketball player Volodymyr Iegorov (4th year, forward, Dontesk, Ukraine) has been named a Canada West third star for his performances January 8-9th.

Iegorov was TRU’s leading scorer in their split on the road against the University of British Columbia Okanagan.  He had 23 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in the ‘Pack’s 69-57 win on Friday followed by 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in their 62-57 defeat.

Iegorov becomes the third member of the men’s basketball team to be honored following Luke Morris’ ( Nov 27-29) and Josh Wolfram (Nov 14-15)  third star selections.

He is also the sixth TRU athlete to be a Canada West third star following: Morris ,Wolfram, Emma Piggin of women’s basketball (Nov 27-29), Brad Gunter of men’s volleyball (October 16-18) and Danielle Fauteaux of women’s soccer who won the honor twice (Sept 11-13 and Oct 9-11).

Iulia Pakohomenko of women’s volleyball has been TRU’s only first star of the week (Oct 30-31).  Pakhomenko (Oct 23-25) and soccer player Jaydene Radu (Sept 4-6) have been the WolfPack Canada West second stars of the week this year.
