Shooting investigation leads to recovery of stolen tires

KAMLOOPS — A 13th Street home that was shot at this morning has been linked to yet another crime.

Graham O’Connor, general manager of Kamloops Tirecraft, says his business was broken into just before 2 a.m.

He says the thief or thieves broke into the yard of his business, cut the lock on one of the sea containers, and stole $3,500 worth of winter tires.

It would have been a great loss for the business, but when a North Shore home became the scene of a targeted shooting this morning, O’Connor’s tires were found in the basement.

“The police found it actually, I guess they were investigating the shooting and just happened to stumble across my product,” O’Connor said.

O’Connor added he feels very lucky to have his tires back, and in good condition.

“I was very happy that they found it,” he said. “I was not expecting to get my tires back.”
