Ed Sheeran, Lily James, & Kate McKinnon in ‘Yesterday’

See Ed Sheeran, Lily James, Kate McKinnon and newcomer Hamish Patel get fab in the first trailer for Yesterday, a new musical film from Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle.

The film tells the story of Jack Malik (Himesh Patel), a struggling singer-songwriter who becomes the only person on Earth to remember the Beatles following a freak worldwide blackout.

On the strength of classic songs like “Let It Be,” “Hey Jude,” and of course, “Yesterday,” the young musician rises to worldwide stardom and takes the musical adventure of a lifetime.

The upcoming movie is a rock-n-roll comedy about music, dreams, friendship, and the long and winding road that leads to the love of your life.

As Jack introduces the world to some of the greatest music of all time, and with the help of his agent Debra (Kate McKinnon), he finally gets the fame and recognition he’s always wanted, landing a spot on James Corden’s late-night couch, a seat at the head of a massive press conference, and studio sessions with Ed Sheeran, who appallingly suggests renaming “Hey Jude” to “Hey Dude.”
